Our History
The Tranquil Shores Children’s Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization that works for the benefit of all children affected by substance abuse or addiction in the community.  The organization was established in 2010 by Mr. Chad Johnson, founder of Tranquil Shores, LLC (a separate private substance abuse recovery facility serving adults).  Today, the organization is run by caring community volunteers.

In June of 2012, the organization's volunteers held their first Golf Tournament to raise funds to assist community children in need. Proceeds from this event helped to support:
•  purchase of counseling services to children unable to afford counseling.
•  health related chemotherapy treatment for children without health insurance.
•  assistance to families who could not meet basic needs due to unforeseen circumstances.
•  donations to agencies focused on helping children (Make a Wish, All Children's Hospital, and SENG).

In April of 2013, the organization grew and evolved from being volunteer driven to hiring its first Executive Director and thereafter a Family Services Specialist.  During this time of growth, hundreds of children directly benefited and thousands were touched by the organization's message of hope and its educational resources.  The mission and strategic areas of influence were refined, the website was launched, families and children where helped directly through the expertise of the staff, and the Tranquil Shores Children's Foundation opened its doors to the community in a separate office located in Madeira Beach, FL.
Today, the Tranquil Shores Children’s Foundation is completely volunteer run and continues to thrive thanks to the generosity of individual donors, corporate donations, and the love of our caring community of partners.
